Toki Pounamu Film Fesival

Toki Pounamu Film Festival Review

On Thursday the 14th of November, the senior school of Karoro went to the Greymouth Regent theatre the Toki Pounamu Film Festival. There were a lot of other schools there as well; St Patrick’s, Paroa, Kaniere, Blaketown, Paparoa Range, Kumara and Karoro schools.

The Toki Pounamu Film Festival is when people from schools make short films and we get to watch them at the festival, some people may or may not make it in. For this year the category was Our Place. Some schools used drones. Some videos didn’t make it in, but are still available to watch on the film festival website.

My favourite film was the one by Catlin Boddy, Sammi Fahey and Pippa Robb. They are from Paroa School. I really enjoyed the humor in it, the film made me laugh. They are all very good actors and they did it on a good day, because there was no wind or noise in the background that made it so we cannot hear it.

In conclusion, I hope that they still run the Toki Pounamu Film Festival, and maybe change the categories or include more than one category to choose from. Overall I think that the Toki Pounamu Film Festival is an amazing thing and that the films this year were spectacular.
